FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY SHOULD I USE A BROKER, AND NOT GO DIRECT?
Insurance is never is one size fits all solution. Different people prefer to manage their risk differently. Clients that prefer to use brokers rely on their expertise in insurance and risk so that they can focus on their business. When using a broker the broker is the expert in insurance matters and the client is the expert in their own business matters, When going to a direct insurer the client must be the expert in both insurance and their own business.
HOW DO I KNOW THAT I AM GETTING A FAIR DEAL?
Insurance brokers are incentivised to keep clients as long as possible, we do regular check-ins with our clients and we cross check the market annually or biannualy should their be a requirement. We put sustainablity first before quick profits. Deo Gratia Insurance Brokers also believes in a legacy business model. We have clients that we have served over two generations and that is a result of always making sure the "deal is fair".
DO YOU PAY YOUR CLAIMS?
We have a good track record of all our claims being paid. If the risk is correctly insured and the client understands what insurance is in place then there are never issues regarding claims being paid. Insurance is a legal contract between the client and the insurer. South Africa has a very good legal and arbitration system that supports the consumer should they feel they are not being treated fairly.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST RISK FACING ME OR MY BUSINESS?
Without any doubt, extreme weather is going to be the highest cause of claims not only in South Africa but across the globe. This will effect your property, your business revenue, motor vehicle accidents and the economy. The more incidents there are that generate claims the more your premiums will cost. We are educating all our clients in ways that they can mitigate as much of this risk as possible.
